Basic Structure of a Periodical Citation

 

 The basic structure of a periodical citation has five main elements:

  1. Author
  2. Title
  3. Publication
  4. Page
  5. Date

The subpages under the Periodicals tab correspond to each of these elements and provides the specific Bluebook rules for each.

Tips

Bluebook citation for periodical sources might differ significantly from other citation systems you may have learned previously. Pay careful attention to the provisions outlined in Rule 16.
