Introduction

On this page we will discuss other Administrative matters not covered elsewhere. Anything not mentioned here can be accessed in a manner similar to Administrative Court Decisions, and in the same place: for reference purposes, those court decisions are categorized as "other" but were worth mentioning separately.

Executive Orders

Federal Register
This link provides all Executive Orders issued by the President back to 1937.
Michigan Executive Orders
This link provides EOs from the Michigan Governor's Office back to 2019.
Lexis and Westlaw are not recommended for Executive Order research, because they are provided in the same collections as all Presidential documents (meaning a user must filter out press releases and other ephemera) and the collections are not browsable.

Public Comment

Regulations.gov
The APA requires agencies to publicize regulations before settling on final language and provide an ample window for public comment. In modern practice, this is carried out on the regulations.gov website. Searching for currently open regulatory action is fairly easy, as is making suggestions. This is, after all, a site for public use and the bar for proficiency is very low.
Michigan Executive Agencies
In Michigan, public comment is submitted through the websites of individual agencies rather than through a central resource. Navigate to the relevant agency and search their site for a public comment section. Librarians may assist if necessary.
