Regulations serve as primary sources of environmental law. Agencies are sometimes authorizedto propose/promulgate regulations. These regulations provide information on how environmental law statutes should be interpreted and enforced.

Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)

The Code of Federal Regulations is an important primary resource for finding the rules and regulations of an administrative agency. The UDM Law Library offers a collection of CFR in print and online. Relevant titles include: 21, 29, 33, 40, 42, 43, 49, and 50. 

The Federal Register

The Federal Register is the official governmental publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents. Materials are released on a daily basis.
