Post Degree Certification

Post Degree Certification

Post-degree is UDM's "non-degree" route to teacher certification. Post-degree students may prepare for an elementary or secondary teaching certificate in the College of Liberal Arts & Education.

MA in Special Education with Learning Disabilities Endorsement (K-12), with Elementary or Secondary Teacher Certification

This program is for students who wish to obtain an elementary teaching certificate, a Special Education endorsement in Learning Disabilities, and a Master of Arts in Special Education-Learning Disabilities. The program combines the required courses for elementary teacher certification, the Special Education endorsement, and Master of Arts in Learning Disabilities. Additionally, it prepares teachers to meet the needs of exceptional students in the inclusionary setting.

UDM Certification Officer

Deborah Gibson, Director of Advising and Certification, counsels pre-education and education students and processes teacher and school administrator certifications. She also evaluates academic transcripts for Teacher Education Program eligibility. Further, she is responsible for program and institutional reporting to the Michigan Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education.

School Administrator Certificate

From the UDM Education Department:

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR CERTIFICATE

To be eligible for the School Administrator Certificate you must earn a Master of Arts in Educational Administration with an approved internship experience. You must submit an application to apply for this certificate through the Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS). See steps below.

Master's in Curriculum & Instruction with Teacher Certification

This degree, the Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction with Teacher Certification, is designed for students who change careers to enter the teaching profession, and develops basic teaching competencies for the application of previous education and experience in an educational setting.

MA in Educational Administration and Leadership
